Kew Green Hotels’ apprenticeship programme offers staff the chance to complete qualifications in roles from sales and marketing, finance and management accounting, and human resources, to professional cookery, and health and safety compliance.
The apprenticeship programme is delivered in partnership with national training provider HIT Training (HIT) and over the last three years, Kew Green has supported a total of 232 apprentices, with 98 currently on the scheme.
Kew Green is now working with HIT to launch its own bespoke Chef Academy. This will run alongside its apprenticeship programme to offer additional kitchen and management skills, helping its chefs to develop their skills, build their confidence and self-esteem, and ultimately work their way up the career ladder.
Kew Green has helped hundreds of employees to develop their skills and experience, and has also provided the opportunity for the apprentices to work in some of the most well-known and established hotel brands. Offering on-the-job experience has seen a large number of its learners go on to develop careers in the hospitality industry, many of whom had previously changed jobs on a regular basis.
Andrew Tregenza, HR Business Partner at Kew Green, comments: “We are passionate about investing in our staff. A big part of my role is ensuring that every member of staff has been given the opportunity to further their development, through additional training or an apprenticeship qualification.”
