Moving to England from Syria brought Hala a range of challenges including a new language. Determined to integrate into her new country Hala learnt to speak English and found a new career.
Tulay Cenik Akfirat
Tulay moved to England from Turkey with her husband and young family. Without any English Tulay didn’t feel she belonged but was determined to be a good role model for her children.
Motivated by a desire to support her son who was born with various medical conditions and who has special educational needs, Rubi enrolled at Tameside Adult and Community Education (ACE) to learn English. She is now inspiring and supporting others in her community to return to learning too.
