Our 2016 award winners highlight the vast array of people who gain so much from learning as adults. Their stories truly inspire all of us and help us recognise that learning is transformational, exciting, rewarding and possible at any age, for any reason and can be for all of us.

Inspirational Tutor of the Year
These awards recognise inspirational tutors who have supported learners, in a range of contexts, to go on to lead successful and rewarding lives.
Employer of the Year Award
The Employer awards, sponsored by NOCN, celebrate employers that have used learning to develop and utilise the skills of their workforce to improve productivity, raise morale, increase staff retention and enhance their business performance.
Project of the Year Award
The Project awards recognise the innovative projects and provision that have supported adults to learn in a range of settings.
Social Impact Award
This new award category sponsored by the WEA celebrates the achievements of learners who, through their passion and determination, have inspired others around them to embrace learning opportunities and achieve their potential.
Learning for Work Award
These awards, sponsored by NOCN, celebrate the achievements of adults who have learnt through an Apprenticeship or Traineeship, secured employment or a promotion at work, embarked on a new career, or started their own business.
Outstanding Individual Learner Award
These awards celebrate remarkable individuals who, through learning, have transformed their own lives and the lives of their families, friends, their communities, and the places they work.
European Social Fund Award
The ESF individual and project awards celebrate stories of learners and projects with truly inspirational and life-transforming learning journeys. As a result of learning, people have achieved remarkable outcomes; their stories have the power to inspire others to learn.
